Shah: Kejriwal using Punjab for corruption and legal fees

Shah accuses Kejriwal of turning Punjab into 'ATM of corruption' to cover legal fees

Union Home Minister Amit Shah accused Delhi Chief Minister Arvind Kejriwal of using Punjab as an "ATM of corruption" to pay his legal fees. Speaking at a poll rally in Ludhiana, Shah claimed Kejriwal is funding his court cases with money from Punjab. He also criticized the Aam Aadmi Party (AAP) and the Congress, suggesting they are allies in other states but pretend to be opponents in Punjab.

Political accusations and corruption claims

Shah attacked the AAP government in Punjab, led by Chief Minister Bhagwant Mann, accusing it of turning the state into a "den of corruption." He urged Mann to stop this corruption, stating that the people of Punjab are frustrated. Shah also mocked the alliance between AAP and Congress in various states, questioning why they oppose each other in Punjab despite their partnership elsewhere.

Shah further alleged that Kejriwal uses Punjab's resources to fund his political campaigns and legal battles. He likened Kejriwal's actions to using a "Mann credit card" to withdraw money from Punjab for his expenses in Delhi. Shah also made a jibe about Mann always accompanying Kejriwal on trips, questioning if Mann is Kejriwal's pilot or Punjab's Chief Minister.

Kejriwal's legal troubles

Recently, the Supreme Court granted Kejriwal interim bail until June 1 to campaign in the Lok Sabha elections. Kejriwal was arrested in a money laundering case related to the alleged Delhi excise policy scam. He is required to surrender and return to jail on June 2. The seven-phase elections will conclude on June 1, with vote counting set for June 4.
